A Slice of Life

Hello! I’m Jashmine the creator and founder of SugarPop55. I followed my passion for baking by attending culinary school at California School of Culinary Arts, Pasadena in 2005. I learned most of my skills and techniques in the Los Angeles fine dining scene with some of the best chefs and mentors.

It all started with pie

I was inspired to launch my own business after my father passed away in 2015. I was moved to open up something in his honor. His favorite desert was apple pie. I remembered one of my fondest memories was eating a slice of pie with him. He complimented me, smiled and said “the crust was delicious”. To this day, I continue to perfect this recipe over the years by baking in his memory.

Have you eaten?

I took time away from the kitchen for inspiration. Traveling abroad to different countries helped my creative process evolve and progress. During this period of time, I often experimented with different menu offerings. I excel at creating unique treats for various occasions. But pie will always remain a favorite especially during the holiday season.

Life is Sweet

The holidays will always remind me of family. The Filipino American experience will always include making food for a large extended family and sharing stories together. I thrive on this foundation and baking pie is my favorite way to add to the table when sharing a meal with friends and family. But most of all, it is a creative force that I use to connect with people.
